About Sidai Valley | Organic Dragon Fruit Kenya

Our Story

Sidai Valley was established in 2023 on the beautiful and pristine soils of Namanga, Kenya. This area boasts a semi-arid climate and fertile red soils, making it a perfect spot for organic farming. The land offers stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, adding to its special charm. We chose this location not only for its natural beauty but also because it is ideal for growing organic dragon fruit in Kenya.

In August 2024, we eagerly planted our first batch of red dragon fruit, marking an exciting new chapter for us in exotic fruit farming. Today, Sidai Valley takes pride in being one of the first to cultivate dragon fruit in Kenya, producing delicious and nutrient-rich fruits that we are truly proud of.

Why Dragon Fruit?
We were inspired to grow dragon fruit because it’s:

By cultivating dragon fruit, we aim to contribute to the health and wellness industry while promoting sustainable farming in Kenya.

Our Ethos

At Sidai Valley, we believe that farming should benefit both people and the planet. Our core principles are based on three pillars:

  1. Health & Wellness – Growing organic fruits that promote healthier lifestyles.
  2. Sustainability – Using eco-friendly farming methods and a zero-waste approach.
  3. Community – Empowering local residents through jobs, training, and partnerships.

Everything we remove from the land is returned as organic fertilizer from our modern vermi-compost facility. This process enriches the soil, keeping our crops healthy and nutrient-rich.

Our Milestones

Since our beginning, we’ve achieved significant milestones that highlight our dedication to farming excellence:

  • Established a nursery capable of growing up to 25 acres of dragon fruit plants.
  • Built a vermi-compost system to create organic fertilizer and enrich the soil naturally.
  • Installed solar power systems for eco-friendly energy use.
  • Introduced rainwater harvesting to conserve water and reduce aquifer pressure.
  • Hired and trained staff from nearby communities, creating new employment opportunities.
  • Supported local economies by purchasing organic materials from small businesses.
